Our Story
The mission was started over 30 years, it was to create a barley variety that would help promote heart health and offset the symptoms of diabetes. Our staff of plant breeders and cereal chemist put their heads together and determined a variety high in beta-glucan soluble fiber was the solution (beta-glucan is proven to reduce cholesterol, support healthy blood sugar and promote healthy blood pressure). Intense research, testing and natural scientific selection led to BGLife Barley, a line of barley varieties that achieves a superior nutritional profile, including high concentrations of beta-glucan.
